youth exchange is 8 days plus 1 day for the trip (October 4 - 11, 2018). The venue of youth
exchange was in Offenbach, Germany.
There will be 33 participants from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey, Germany,
Greece, Italy, Bulgaria and Romania. One of the participants had special needs and his
companions will be in Offenbach during the project activities. Our Macedonian partner ensures that
participants with special needs are available. Fifteen of the participants are selected to have fewer
opportunities to travel, as well as cultural differences, educational difficulties, geographical barriers
and social barriers. Partner organizations are responsible for the selection of participants.
The overarching objective of the project is to promote accessibility to the social inclusion of people
with disabilities and to improve the awareness of accessibility of public facilities for persons with
disabilities at national and international level.
Among the specific non-formal educational goals of this youth exchange is the creation of an
accessible Offenbach map, which displays accessible places such as hospitals, schools, public
transport, sports centers and restaurants with open-source software to increase the social
accessibility and mobility of citizens with disabilities and to encourage young people to engage with
people with disabilities and raise awareness of the rights of people with disabilities between young
people and local communities. During the project, participants will hold a workshop on non-formal
education methods on the accessibility of people with disabilities.
The methods will be teambuilding,
group dynamics, debates, outdoor activities, facility visits, role-playing games, challenges and NGO
fair etc. The main activities are the creation of a barrier-free map, empathy with people with
disabilities: "All of us are disabled", visit "Disability assistance in city and district Offenbach e. V. ",
Coffee Talks" Disabled Role Model, Ramp Workshop and Ideation Crowd Funding Event to Create
Accessibility Awareness Raising the Created Accessible Map on the Internet with Users The report is
being sent to related areas of government and communities released.
The project aims to raise participants' awareness of disability rights, understanding of volunteering,
information about software technologies and ICT, as well as basic information on mapping and
understanding mapping as a solution tool for socially responsible projects.
"ICT for AccessAbility" is to contribute to the local community in Offenbach by promoting the map
available in Offenbach throughout the state. Once the participants have completed the youth
exchange and return to their local communities, they will likely sponsor this volunteer project to create
a barrier-free map of specific areas in their home country. This card can help increase the inclusion
and employability of people with disabilities. As youth exchanges can provide participants with
practical tools and these maps can be created in their communities, they will be able to disseminate
the desired impact of the project in their local communities.
